Last
year during the October 2013 Seniors festival in Kingston I gave a
workshop at the Mordialloc Community Centre and participants were able to sample my energy sprout salad and a herbal punch.

LIFE RECIPES
Mixed Beansprout Salad
Ingredients:-
·
A
mixture of sprouted seeds and legumes such as fenugreek, alfalfa, radish,
mustard seeds; aduki, mung, lentil beans.
·
Sticks
of celery trimmed and diced
·
Pak
choi or Chinese cabbage or normal green/red cabbage-leaves finely cut
·
Carrots
grated
·
50g
raisons or sultanas or optional Berberis (barberry fruit) or Pomegranate seeds
Dressing:-
·
2
tbsp shoyu/ soya sauce/ tamari
·
Juice
of one lemon
·
4
tspn (20mls) concentrated apple juice
·
1
tsp grated fresh ginger root
·
2
tbsp sesame oil
·
Optional
salt & pepper
Rinse the sprouts and mix in a large
bowl. Add the celery, cabbage and raisons and mix well. For the dressing, mix
all the ingredients together in a jar or jug and pour over the salad. Toss and
serve.
Ayurvedic Home Remedy for unlimited energy and vitality
Ingredients:- 2
tspn fennel seeds, 3 almonds and 3 cardamom pods that have been soaked
overnight in water. In the morning add 2 fresh dates-blend or grind together
and eat.
Cleansing liver tonic drink:- Gather a large handful of fresh
dandelion leaves and mint leaves. Place in a blender with purified water and
lemon juice to taste. Blend well and drink.
Herbal energy punch:- Make up a herbal infusion of fresh chopped
herbs or use dry herbs or tea bags. Use herbs such as rosemary, peppermint,
lemongrass or lemon balm. Allow to cool and then add juices such as apple, pear
or orange or ginger ale. Throw in some blueberries; heartsease, borage or other
edible flowers. Other chopped fruit may be added. A delicious punch for kids
and everyone to enjoy in the warmer sunshine.
